I finally saw Avatar 2 last night. It was enjoyable despite its flaws. But before I say anything else, those crab mech suits were glorious! I don't care if they don't make sense! Those were the coolest mech designs I've seen in live action cinema!

I haven't been in a movie theater in 4-5 years. Today, I saw Avatar 2: The Way of the Water in IMAX 3D. WOW! An incredible movie. James Cameron outdid himself again. The time just flew by. I highly recommend it!

I saw #Avatar #WayoftheWater today. I couldn't sleep without venting about it, so this is going to be a thread comparing avatar 1 to avatar 2, and explaining why I think avatar 2 isn't as good as avatar 1.

To begin, Avatar 1 is a white savior / chosen one story, so it's not that great to begin with, but imo it was okay because at least it was 100% fantasy and not based on any actual tribes (as far as I know).

My only complaint is that the movie seems a bit too long. I don’t know what should have been left out, and this movie leads into the next two, but until they’re released, it’s hard to know what should have been left on the cutting room floor.

I’ve been a huge fan of Cameron’s movies, and loved Avatar despite some of its more simplistic themes. The whole Dances with Wolves stuff never bugged me since it was just a well made movie.

Way of the Water is a fantastic movie in the original sense of the word. Good storytelling without being too preachy. FX that are out of this world. Weta and the rest of the artists involved created an amazing world.

This so totally real but not just for #avatar I get this with most movies. That's why I have to try to be selective about which movies and tv shows I watch. For this reason alone I feel like streaming new movies at home has been great so I could start watching and abandon if I feel like I can't stand the movie. Going to a #movie theater is a big commitment.
