Visiting Mum in hospital this afternoon:

Dad: Alfred and Sue have spent two days building you a ramp for when you come home.

Mum: (to me) Oh good. Can I press the button to make it go up and down whenever I want?

Bloody parental expectations!

Just bought a load of timber and decking to build a long wheelchair ramp along the side of the house to the front door (which is part way down the side of the house and not at the front as the name suggests).

Hopefully it will make it easier and safer for Mum when she is out of hospital.

So good to work with my brothers on this #wheelchairramp for my mom. At the ripe age of 91, she’s started having some serious #mobilityissues. Over the course of two days, these two experienced craftsmen and I (much less experienced) cobbled together a plan, procured lumber and hardware, and got the project completed in time for her Monday morning doctor’s appointment. #accessibility
