Happy #worldwhaleday. Good to see that #whales are making a comeback in places like NYC thanks to conservation efforts. This is just 5 months ago.
February 19th is #worldwhaleday! In our latest blog, learn how underwater radiated noise can negatively affect whales, and how all-electric vessels can help keep our marine friends happy and healthy.

happy #worldwhaleday! A pod of either porpoises or dolphins swam past me today while surfing. I wish I could tell the difference from the water but all websites assume Iβm looking at one of each species laying on a table in front of me. Anyway, my spouse got a video
A whale can produce hundreds of gallons of urine in a single day. So on #WorldWhaleDay, please take a moment to consider this very important question: How much of the ocean is whale pee (and worse)? π π https://www.livescience.com/55189-how-much-of-ocean-is-whale-pee.html
Itβs #WorldWhaleDay π. Here are some humpback whales gently feeding and singing in Chatham Strait last summer. #Alaska

Cheeky, but quite accurate. Sperm whales in UK latitudes are male (females stay in tropical waters), and the penis protrudes when they strand (as in the photo)
It also shows accurately the teeth: sperm whales have teeth only on the lower jaw, with rows of matching holes in the upper jaw.

Happy #WorldWhaleDay !
On #WorldWhaleDay spare a thought for all the extinct prehistoric whales.
There are 8 toys in the whale category on the Dinosaur Toy Blog so far, including several versions of the serpent-like and mistakenly named whale Basilosaurus, and the appropriately named sperm-whale relative Livyatan: https://dinotoyblog.com/classification/whale/

In 'Justice For Animals' (2023), Nussbaum discusses whales in an ethically attuned manner; paying attention to the lives of whales, and attributes such as their capacities for social learning.
