Working on a new yoyo production. It’s a re-run, mostly, but lots of CAD file tweaks, aesthetic changes, new colors, etc.
Opened up a yoyo design that I created on contract for yoyotricks.com. It uses a tiny MR85 ball bearing, m3x12mm axle, and silicone response pads. The yoyo body is anodized 6061 aluminum. It turned out pretty well! #yoyo #yoyodesign
I released a new unresponsive metal yoyo design, the Dynames. I wrote a blog post about it here: https://mk1yoyos.com/2022/12/the-dynames-yoyo/

Cutaway of a work in progress yoyo design, created in FreeCAD. The caps are press-fit, tinted darker here for visibility. This type of shape that relies on so many arcs and other round sections is pretty difficult to whip into shape, but this is not my first effort here, so the work gets smoother and smoother.
Working on getting better at whitebox photography. It’s just small and constrained enough that I can write down notes about aperture, shutter speed, etc and come up with some decent shots. Still struggling with the autofocus on my camera, though it’s still better than me trying to operate manual focus.
This is probably less efficient than hiring someone to take product photos, but I like being part of the process.
