Ever since I read #Bleach chapter 506 the first time, something curious did strike me about Captain Commander Yamamoto's Bankai.

In a sort of ways, his #Bankai is similar to Ichigo's in that it transitions from a huge, too big to be true form (Ryujinjakka, #Zangetsu) to a more controlled, regular-sword-like form (Zanka no Tachi, Tensa Zangetsu).

Then, both are stated to concentrate their power in a smaller area, thus increasing the effect. I always thought it was pretty interesting seeing this development, effectively establishing a parallel between the newcomer and the oldest, most powerful #Shinigami

Of course, it all falls apart when we see the 4 techniques of Zanka no Tachi, all of them boasting HUGE power and area of effect. Would #Ichigo have developed in the same way if he had taken the time to communicate deeper with its "#zanpakutoh". It's hard to say, since he...
