Finished my backing tracks and guide melody tracks of my latest project. It's a cover of a Jia Peng Fang piece in a very traditional Chinese style. He's an Erhu Master and I'm just a Sanxian beginner so...should be fun

I'm resting a bit on my last original piece. The arrangement is done and it's fairly involved so I'm mulling over some compositional treatments

Thursday's rehearsal with "Purple Bamboo" was my first with the Sanxian. It was quite a challenge in ways I never expected. Playing with an ensemble on a instrument with variable tuning was part of it but I had also learned the songs differently from everybody else. Between those two, I was constantly struggling to find my place
