Tainan Railway Station, with a statue of Gotō Shinpei. Gotō served as Taiwan’s Secretary for Civil Affairs under Governor General Kodama, was Japan’s Chief Scout, and later served as Mayor of Tokyo. He was a driving force behind development of the Taiwanese railway system.

1936年 台南駅 後藤新平像
後藤新平氏は1898年～1906年にわたって台湾総督府民政長官を在任。
その功績をたたえ1912年2月に台南駅で銅像を建立。
