Last weekend I saw a talk by about Toroku, Takachiho and the Arsenic Mining Pollution there. It was good to see the speaker, Reiko Iwasa, get people to think about development for diversity and human growth instead of GDP statistics. She suggested community development through participatory planning of footpaths to promote appreciation of localities. One of the questions reminded me of Aileen Mioko Smith's "10 Strategies"
