Felt like making Ochazuke (rice and tea "congee") for dinner last night. I know rice and tea together in one dish sounds weird but it just hit the spot for me. Perfect for a cold rainy winter night.

Toppings were pan-fried salmon, omelette strips, nori, spring onions and roasted sesame seeds

Had 海苔の佃煮 Nori no Tsukudani, seaweed paste with mushrooms for the first time today, for brekky with congee and eggs. I know it looks and sounds like a weird combo but it hit the spot. It was good comfort food!

The paste itself in flavour and texture reminded me of 橄欖菜 Preserved Mustard Greens with Chinese olives. But it was a fair bit sweeter.
