Here, I'm cracking open and then tightly closing a triangle of cedar boards in a chimney that draws flames up to char the surface just right. We primed them with kerosene too.

I helped char the cedar planking and banged out a bunch of the copper shingles on this building by Fujimori Terunobu. It was a really fun and educational experience. And, I got to be part of a work by one of my favorite architects.
