Woo Chang-beom, vice chairman of the committee promoting the building of a second airport on #Jeju, an island of only 1,833.2 sqm (707.8 sq mi), tries to woo residents on the western side of the island by saying they'll be able to use the existing airport more conveniently if a second one is built on the eastern side, nicely sidestepping the environmental impact on the entire island.

Eighty banners claiming #Jeju 4.3 was ordered by late North Korean leader Kim Il-sung and the communist party have been erected on the island ahead of the 75th anniversary of the massacre.
Of the two I’ve seen today, both were slashed.
One I had seen this morning was whole when I passed.
By the afternoon, it was in shreds, and police were on the scene.
