Firefox isnt really an unchained portal because it is too heavy. Heavy tools goes at the expense of modifiability and understandability, reducing its ability to provide freedom to the masses.
But firefox is a portal for the hypertext web. A web that demands heavy portals. Thehypertext web can therefore never be saved. Not by Mozilla nor anyone else.
We dont just simply need another portal, we need another web that encourage the developement of #𐑤𐑲𐑑𐑢𐑱𐑑 and unchained tools.
@bitzero It also ignores how we have lost control over the hypertext web through letting it be more and more feature rich.
This means that only a few actors are able to keep up with the features. Safari, Chromium and Firefox.
Google is also proposing Manifest v. 3 which may take away our right to privacy.
With Gemini, we are in control over development, because one person is all that is needed to develop a functional browser.

Free/unchained software/tools has four requirements. The freedom to:
1. share to help others.
2. understand the tool.
3. perform as we want.
4. adapt to our needs.
When tools becomes too bloated, we loose the ability to understand them, therefore we dont know whether the tool performs as we want. It also means reducing the adaptability of the tool.
Therefore, I dont concider bloated "free/unchained" tools to be truely unchained.
