It's #MountainMonday and #10YearsAgo we fulfilled one of our dreams. What a weekend, what an experience... we were indestructible 🤠

We climbed Ortler (3905m, also called Ortles), the highest mountain in #SouthTyrol, in the region of #Tyrol, and the former Austro-Hungarian Empire.

We had great weather, a great company, and an astonishing panorama.

#10YearsAgo I did a quite demanding ascent (1900m difference!) to the Schrankogel (3497m), Stubai #Alps, #Tyrol, #Austria.
The top was snow-covered, and we had to climb the cornice a bit 🤠

Amazing mountain, pyramid-shaped, and part of the scientific #LTER network in Tyrol and Austria.

#10YearsAgo I climbed the Monte Piano (2305m) and Monte Piana (2324m), nice outposts and #WWI settings to see the #Dolomites around (like Drei Zinnen/Tre Cime and Monte Cristallo).
In the valley the crystal-blue Dürrensee/Lago di Landro.

Fun fact: #StarWars Solo film was also filmed there (where they camp with fire) 🖖

Sad fact: This was one of the last time I saw Armin Holzer walking on a #HighLine there. He also died there during a parachute speedriding...

Oldest was in K-1st grade; youngest started kinder. Grandmother passed. Mom broke other hip. Mom had massive coronary and barely survived; finally ended up in assisted living. Jade started working as a background investigator part-time again.
