The old colonial mind still holds its sway.
The poor, they suffer still, their cries unheard,
Drowned out by rhetoric, by lines so blurred.
Divide, distract, with foe and false alarm,
While few grow fat and many suffer harm.
In this grand play, where politicians jest,
The truth, like sun, when rising in the east,
Can pierce the dark and bring a hopeful day,
When minds unshackled rise and have their say.
To heal, unite, and common dreams embrace,
A land for all, not just the privileged race,
Where flags and anthems swell the heart with pride,
Not used as cloaks where darker truths can hide.
