Alas I did not draw this. But it IS fabulous and plus it only ran me a dollar or two:

(Large 1940 "self-coloring" coloring book cover. A tuxie kitten spills a glass of paint water on an image of a frisky puppy, so now said puppy is in color and not just a line drawing. Artist was Ethel Taylor Bonney.)

This is one of the most disturbing pancake-arts in my files so of course it's a favorite of mine.

Cute sheet music from 1928. Dark purple ink line drawing of 6 #birds in a tree with 2 nests and just a few small buds. Kate Seredy was the artist. Title of the piece: Cuckoo Waltz (or Gok Valsen) by J.E. Jonasson. I can't vouch one way or another for the quality of the song. Sorry. #20thCenturyIllustration

A modest New Year's gift for my piano-maven friends on Fedi. <3
Front cover of sheet music from the early 1940s.
"Down the Road A Piece" across top, marquee-style. Red background with stylized grand piano lid holding descriptive text, including "8 to the bar BOOGIE WOOGIE piano solo series." Row of tiny keys faintly visible below the huge, angled lid: creates the effect of opening a greeting card.

A colorful #20thCenturyIllustration cover from a kids' Origami how-to. A boy and girl hold completed paper figures against a red background, with text. (& eye contact)
To my untrained eye, the writing looks to alternate between the two languages.
I'd like to post these on the account I use for ephemera, but I'd want to know the title of the book, the publishing year, and the authors, too. If possible. Thanks.
A giant bird descends from Heaven, wielding carving gear against an alarmed little boy, Dream Warrior-style. Also Junior's room is redwood-brown, which probably doesn't help.

L. Closed, w/text: "Birthday Greetings. I know my onions."
R. Open. Now the lid is off the burger to reveal the lovely rings. Text: "So I won't BREATHE A WORD. But I'm sure STRONG for wishing you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY anyhow!"
There was probably a huge Hallmark fandom war about why the bear lost their pink bow in Phase Two.
Folks, I've been remiss in my earlier goal of re-posting this at least every other week:

A dollar-or-so find from several months ago. (Though more elaborate versions seem to go online for heaps of money.) A printed watercolor-y landscape of a coastline w/mountains in blue & black ink on white. Four red ships off in the distance w/larger one in foreground. The two sails, the boat's body, and the two men aboard are all colored with die-cut pieces of postage stamp pasted to the card's surface. Trim colors are red, green, and orange.

Horiz. rectangle forms an abstract close-up juncture of an hourglass holding a big mountain of vanilla ice cream. Plus a spoon, a straw, and a happy nuclear family on the march with their "brick" of delicious dairy. We should bring back "brick" as an ice cream descriptor. It sounds badass! Dominant colors are blue-gray and pink. Title in yellow: "Time for *Ice Cream*". (Of course. :) )
