This is my 1972 #Datsun #240Z, a #Californian LHD import. Since acquisition in 2017, she has received a number of upgrades including suspension, brakes, engine & cooling system together with electrical overhaul. We have fitted three twin #DCOE #Webber carburettors, quick flow exhaust manifold and stainless steel pipes. The engine was rebuilt in 2022 and electronic ignition fitted. She’s a little pocket rocket, set off by the upgrade to period #Wolfrace slot mag alloys. #Datsun240Z #PocketRocket

The #240Z was my dream car for a long time, which was really a pretty affordable dream for a long time too, but I was busy spending money in my 20s and early 30s on partying and travel and gadgets.
Then when finally I had a good job and the means to buy one, the prices absolutely skyrocketed. They're a lovely, beautiful car at AU$30k, where they hovered until the mid 2010s. Now you'd be lucky to get a clean 2seat manual (death to the 2+2 and autos!) for under AU$70k – and they're absolutely not a $90k car.
Still, I wish this bloke luck, and if I'm fair, they're worth whatever the market will tolerate. That's how it goes.

Last year I bought a stunning restored 1984 #Porsche 944 Turbo for a fair bit cheaper than any clean 2seat manual S30 could be had, so I took great delight in telling friends "I couldn't afford a Datsun, so I bought a Porsche". :vibing:
(I sold it recently at a profit, so there's that...)
