My Boxing Day film was #28DaysLater, every bit as good as I remembered it. There's a curious elegaic quality to parts of the film, as in their drive north and the overnight stay at a ruined abbey. The horses become a metaphor for nature released from the human yoke.

The sergeant at the military base echoes this, talking about humans as a blip in the life of the universe.

The final scene in the Lake District, where I used to live, is idyllic.

Perhaps to be human is to 'rage'.
