a little warning to people #modding their #3DS for #homebrew .
In the #Thirdtube app in the settings page theres a flash theme under Dark theme,
enabling it flashes the screen from white to dark extremely quickly,
please be careful if you're using this app

I had to send my kids #2DS to #Nintendo to get repaired. After 2 weeks, they sent it back with the following confusing notes attached.
1. We are returning your 2DS unrepaired due to...
2. A shipping label that belonged to someone else listing issues that were not the problems that we had.
3. And a Post Repair sheet that said they verified our problems and repaired everything.
Thankfully It was repaired and did work but was missing all of the back screws... C'mon Nintendo...

I'm starting to suspect there is something wrong with the connector in the motherboard. Has anyone seen this behaviour? Ideas are welcome.

Repair of the day: the #Nintendo #2DS. Got a new touch panel and camera. Installed everything and closed the console to test. Realized I forgot to install a light guide for the Wi-Fi LED. Opened the console carelessly and... tore the new camera cable. AGAIN! They are like paper!
Sigh... the console still works, and I don't play any software that requires the cameras. But I like my machines fully working, so will have to order new cameras.
At least the touch panel works! 😅

Nothing quite like the disappointment of keeping your #Nintendo3DS altogether all these years only to lose your stylus at the start of 2023. Had always been weirdly loose fitting but apparently it's finally decided it lives in the wild now.
*sigh* Suppose I need to figure out where to find #2DSXL replacement stylus from, prefer to find one that fits the slot than one to go in the carry case. Bother.

Last week my #Nintendo #2DS started turning itself off when I tried to turn it on, with just a quick blue flash of the power LED.
Sometimes I was able to power the console on, just for it to shut down a few minutes later.
Opened it up to check and, to my surprise, the whole metal shield over the CPU was loose, causing the shutdowns by shorting things to ground.
A few seconds with the soldering iron, and the problem was fixed. And I even managed to beat my high-score at #Tetris DX afterwards!

Poor @yirggzmb is having a time of getting a #stripped screw out of a Nintendo #2DS and the internet solutions are... not helpful. She's got a tiny screw that's inset in a channel away from the surface, and right over the circuitboard. It is the last screw holding the two faces together, which are also connected with a delicate ribbon cable.

Ho preso il mio New 2DS XL un po' di tempo fa dopo aver perso il mio vecchio 3DS XL durante un viaggio in Scozia, e ad oggi è la mia console portatile preferita. Non tanto per la selezione di giochi della console in sé, seppur molto vario (a livello qualitativo ho sempre preferito la PSP) ma più per la comodità, la batteria infinita e soprattutto la scena hacking/homebrew che tiene questa famiglia di console in vita.
