With improving weather conditions we hiked up to SOTA DM/SX-014 Lausche/Luž in #Lusatia right on the border from #Germany to the #CzechRepublic (POTA DA-0049 Zittauer Gebirge Nature Park, DLFF-0747 Lausche) and only had rain for about 20 minutes. Strong RFI on the mountaintop made it difficult to work #2m in #fm, but #70cm were nice.

Did a #speedhike to my favorite spot at 702m/2303ft (loc. JN87BX) on Hinterer/Mittlerer Lindkogel before dinner.
Actually just to breath fresh air before the next heatwave arives here, I also went on air on #2m FM. Glad to be the first in the #UKW #VHF logbook on today's field day of OE3NDC/p, OE3TEC and OE3MIF.
They do a fantastic job. Looking forward to their report in the QSP magazine of #OEVSV.
Other than that I just enjoyed #nature. The best idea for today.

Heavy rain hit my relatives and me while walking in #Lusatia and taking a break for activating SOTA DM/SX-031 Czorneboh. I made it very short on #2m, #70cm in #fm and #20m in #cw. We walked a total of about 7,3 km. #HamRadio #SummitsOnTheAir #sota #truSDX #qrp

Took a day off after this weekend‘s work: SOTA DM/SX-025 Valtenberg on HF, VHF and UHF. Haven’t done a VHF/UHF activation for more than 15 years. Ecologically friendly with the #Deutschlandticket. Testing #aprs is of great fun!
Lately I had two WOW-moments, one is positive, one a bit scarry:
1. #aprsfi really works for #spotting. One OM saw my track and we managed to get two #QSOs despite the difficult conditions for #2m (many trees, no line of sight). Thanks to OE3PWR for the patience!
2. Though APRS offers pretty good positioning data, it can also lead to misinterpretations, at least when combined with SAT data. It looks like I climbed up a sandy 90° wall. Nope, not this time! 😵💫
