So since my #APRS iGate is doing a LOT for this area of the #HamRadio community, & I'd like to do more, I'm going to take the Tune-A-Tenna down for now, and instead use that telescoping carbon fiber mast to get the #2meter antenna up to perhaps 65ft AGL. That will be huge, if it doesn't crash.

It's been many many years that I haven't really delved into my HAM Radio hobby, for a number of reasons really. When I first got my license about 23 years ago or so, I got involved in some groups, but honestly I never felt welcome and it sort of soured my experience. I've listened in over the years, but as the Internet grew, interest in HAM radio, especially local stuff, waned. The FT-70DR from #Yaesu has much better audio quality than the Explorer #QRZ-1. At four times the price point (on sale), I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
