I finished editing the second draft of my novel.

I am starting to share it with beta readers & am proud to report that I made one reader cry.

Well, my story made her cry. At an appropriate time.

Trying not to freak out, but feeling ridiculously giddy.

Had my weekly hour of writing at the library tonight, which is when I'm most productive.

I realized something, though. When writing #fantasy, I feel uncomfortable using the word "heart" when talking about my character's emotions. It seems so cliché. It's more of a #romance / #WomensFiction / #Literary word.

I have no problem using it in those genres.

3. What is your MC's biggest pet peeve? Does it come up in your WIP?

Damien hates people who are late. As it happens, his first scene starts with his pet peeve.

Excerpt:
"... I looked at the clock & growled in frustration. It’s ticking seemed to mock me.

Why my longest & most faithful companions couldn’t hold to the same standards, I’d never understand.

I told them dinner would be ready at eight sharp.

It was two minutes past."
