It's hard to overstate what a big deal this is: A global agreement to slow the #extinction crisis by protecting 30 percent of the world's lands and waters by the end of the decade. It's going to take a lot of work, but we can do it.

Credit to the Biden administration for leading on this and setting a national #30x30 goal nearly two years ago. Now we just need to get it done here at home. #biodiversity

Important, historic deal struck at #COP15 to protect #biodiversity. Hard fought, and well done to the negotiators for making it happen, though many questions remain. Not least is how it will be funded and will the #GlobalSouth be expected to shoulder most of the burden again.

I'm also not clear on how the #30x30 will be implemented and whether there will be enough protection for #indigenous communities living on those lands...

Amazing news: President Biden will protect nearly 450,000 acres of public land in #Nevada by creating Avi Kwa Ame National Monument.

This is a huge win for the #Indigenous nations that led the effort to protect Avi Kwa Ame, as well as a giant step for land protection and reaching the #30x30 goal to address the global #biodiversity crisis.
