Well #30DaysOfBiking was derailed by a cold, surprise lower back pain knocked out #BikeStreak. Someone is telling me to have a break every now and again, I think.
My back seems to be nearly better. Hoping I can get out for at least one good ride this weekend.

Sad news.

A couple of friends and I were just discussing, over a Fugazi IIRC, during #30daysofbiking, how much we appreciate places like Blackstack for making it through the pandemic while maintaining their craft but also staying a community asset.

#3GoodThings fell by the wayside while I wasn't feeling well but I'm back at it now.

1) Knock wood, I seem to have mostly dodged the stomach bug the others in the family got with only minor stomach upset.

2) I might've failed to finish #30DaysOfBiking due to illness but decided to do a possibly neverending #BikeStreak instead.

3) Client now expects me on site 4 days/week (instead of 1). I am seeing the glass as half full as that's 160 km of cycling/wk *plus* weekend rides.

#30daysofbiking day number thirty - final day.

An otherwise miserable day, with spitting rain and gusts of wind that threatened to knock me over.

Nonetheless, finished off the last day in proper style. Hanging out with a good friend, having couple pints, some incredible tacos ( from https://champlin.chililime.net/ ) and complaining about the weather while simultaneously appreciating we got outside in the weather.

Day 30 of #30DaysOfBiking That’s a wrap folks! You won’t have to hear about every boring ride it the grocery store for another year. Topped off the month by taking my kid to ice skating class in the rain. Cover on the box bike kept them dry while my Cleverhood rain cape kept me dry!

Today 8 brave souls came out for our We Bike Rochester 30 days #bicycle finale. It was cold, cloudy and very windy. I was glad to have my #ebike as I led the group on the #RochMN city trails. We started at the Fairgrounds and visited Silver Lake, Quarry Hill and Bear Creek Trail. We bailed on the original patio dining/beer option at the end. Here's hoping for good May weather soon.

I rode down the Milvia St bikeway on the way back from the kid's soccer practice. Aside from the one car parked in the lane, it was a calm ride. Not many people driving cars in the car lane. The people I saw on bikes:
* 4 people who looked to be teens
* one older person with a empty trail-a-bike, perhaps they had just dropped off a kid?
* one older person on an e-bike
* two "sporty" cyclists
* 2 people who looked like they had just finished grocery shopping
* one young adult on an older slightly beater-looking steel bike
* a parent riding with their middle-school-aged child
* someone with a commuter-style bike and panniers

It was nice seeing such a mix of people using a nice stretch of protected bike lanes.

Afterward, I biked home and did another ride with my partner up into the Oakland hills. I did not take pictures or video because my phone battery was exhausted and so was I. I'm hoping to rest for a bit!

I took the Cross-Alameda Trail (thank you for your advocacy @BikeWalkAlameda) to get to the Alameda Bike Festival.
There were so many simultaneous great things happening.
I taught a Family Cycling Workshop with other instructors from @BikeEastBay and there was also an Urban Cycling 101 class, a Bike Rodeo, free bike repairs via the Bikemobile, and lots of eager learners at the learn-to-ride class. Today I finally took the Cross Alameda Trail to get to the #Alameda Bike Festival (and avoid the Posey tube). The cycletracks are a nice, low-stress way to get across the island. I like them.
