Been thinking about my ideal kit for a day of serious analog photography. I'd want two camera bodies, one for B&W and one for color, and at least three lenses - a 24mm, a 50mm, and a 105mm or 135mm. I've got that kit with my high school Canon FTb and New F-1 and my Canon FD lenses. But I realized I get nervous walking around with that package - because I'd be crushed if I lost one or both of those cameras. And they're also VERY HEAVY. So...

Well holy cow. I just learned that while Nikon AI lenses only have hard clicks at full aperture stops, you can set them anywhere in between those hard clicks. Been shooting Nikons for a few months now. JUST NOW LEARNED THIS HA HA! #BelieveInFilm #35mmLoveLetter

Another photo from the same roll, but shot with a 24mm wide angle lens. I grew up shooting with a 28 as my wide angle, so I'm still getting used to the extra expanse of the 24. But I dig it!

No yellow filter on the lens for this shot, so the blue in the sky hasn't been darkened as it is in the previous shot.

I've said it before and I'm absolutely not the one to organize such a thing, but a lending library of analog film gear would be an amazing thing that would greatly ease the gear acquisition syndrome that afflicts so many of us. ShopGoodwill used camera auction I'm watching tonight for fun: a Soligor 135mm f2. Can't even tell what kind of mount this has. But it's got the lowest f-stop I've ever seen for a 135mm lens. Not gonna bid on it - I'm trying to calm down with gear acquisition at the moment. But I'm intrigued nonetheless! Took out the new to me F2 for a walk this morning loaded with some Rollei Retro 80S with the Nikkor-N 24mm f/2.8. I decided to walk around the East Shore Park around the old skating rink.

I have to say the tactile experience with the Nikon’s like the F and F2 is so nice. Just love the way the shutter release and the film advance feel on these.
