9th #movie I’ve seen this year was Sick [2022]. It’s as bland as they come. I know slashers are not the most character driven movies out there, but it’s hard to enjoy a film when you don’t care about any of the characters in it. All of the people in Sick are just bad people. I know Kevin Williamson can produce and write great slashers, so I’m not losing hope for Scream VI, but I’d rather I’d skipped this one.
8th #movie I’ve seen this year was M3GAN [2002]. Unfortunately, for me, the hype and marketing were better than the movie itself. This is not to say the movie is bad, far from it, it’s just not as exciting as I’d hoped it would be.
7th #movie I’ve seen this year was Oldboy [2003]. I know Korean movies aren’t for everyone, but this one is so good you need to see it. Featuring one of the hardest hitting plot twists in movie history, Oldboy will leave you shaken.
6th #movie I’ve seen this year was Devotion [2022]. Beautiful intimate story about struggle and support, made all the more important by the fact that these were real people. That other aviation movie took all the spotlight last year, but don’t miss this one. ✈️

5th #movie I’ve seen this year was The Menu [2022]. There’s just something about Ralph Fiennes that makes me very happy, I don’t know. I loved the film. It’s wonderfully weird.

4th #movie I’ve seen this year was Friday The 13th Part 2 [1981]. Now, I’m a huge #slasher fan, and I devour any and all I can get my hands on, often to my detriment. Not all of them are good. Friday The 13th series have a special place in my heart. With that said, Part 2 was more of the same: a group of camp counselors gets stalked and murdered, but this time we are introduced to Jason Voorhees as the series' main antagonist, albeit without the iconic mask.

Third #movie I’ve seen this year was The Family Man [2000]. Téa Leoni and our favourite internet icon Nicolas Cage star in this romantic Christmas fantasy drama about love and redemption, but it’s more bleak than you’d think. There are no happy endings here.

Second #movie I’ve seen this year was White Noise [2022], adapted from the 1985 novel of the same name. It’s weird, but I enjoyed it a lot, mostly because of Adam Driver’s performance. He’s a comedy god, there is no doubt about it.
I’m hoping this will be the year I finally manage to see 365 #movies. I’m not planning to watch a movie every day ’cause that’s impossible with my schedule, but at the end of the year I’d like my #Letterboxd diary to say 365.
So, to kick off the year, I watched Knives Out [2019] again. I believe it’s a wonderfully crafted film with twists that manage to be entertaining even if you’ve seen the film before. This is the film that finally got me on board with Daniel Craig.

Day 1 Movie With a Z in the Title
1) World War Z - Been wanting to watch this perfect day for it. This movie was so damn good. Ridiculous but so well done and I really do believe Brad Pitt could save the world. 2013 #365Movies 4/5
