Digital elevation models (DEM) are available for much of the world, showing land elevation at various resolutions. I've worked with them before on a few projects, so I wanted to try something new here by using this data in Blender.
I originally wanted to map elevation on the top surface of the E, but this approach with a plane ended up being quicker and reading pretty well.
