Interesting podcast about the Bouvet Island expedition #3Y0J https://overcast.fm/+-Hyad1gHU
Fascinating video about the recent #DXPedition to #BouvetIsland, and the minority of individuals that didnโt behave in the spirit of #hamradio #amateurradio

I am a @NCDXF and @INDEXA_DX member. I already contribute to DX'peditions. Paying 15USD for a direct QSL card from #3Y0J is a little bit overpriced in my opinion. Shall I quit paying those DX associations?
Posted a comment on a video about #3Y0J - immediately deleted it so I don't cop any fallout. Thou shalt not have criticism or concerns about how the trip was done and they're all superheroes apparently.
In between posting some rude comments on the DX Cluster (while it's still anonymous) and writing trash items about #3Y0J on the WWW,
I copied today's #Morsle at 40 WPM! https://morsle.fun
Now off to warm the amp for some potent carriers on the DX QRG. Split? What split?
For those about to jam, we salute you!
Until we hear otherwise from the media officer, this is proof from LB5GI that 3Y0J clocks are accurate and are operating WSJT-X F/H normally.
The plot thickens. I also found this on FB digging through the comments.
LB5GI saying they are using WSJT-X F/H normally.

Does anyone definitively know whether or not the dxpedition team is using JTDX or WSJT-X for F/H? The cycle timing could be different depending on which is used. It's surprising to me that the team did not think of this and that they haven't done anything to clarify the situation.
About all the DXcluster mess with #FT8WW and #3Y0J: they are not new. These Cluster Crabs have been alive for many years. While the original article domain was taken over, the archive remains in the Internet Archive.

I have finally successfully decoded #3Y0J with a 1m-length whip antenna with counterpoise wires + Airspy HF+ Discovery + gqrx + WSJT-X 2.6.1 on Ubuntu x86_64 22.04.1, on 10.144MHz FT8, today (20220210), in Tokyo Japan, at PM95tp.

I'm overwhelmed by the signal strength of the callers BTW *shrug*.
Seriously folks, canโt we all just get along? Grow up. #3Y0J #DX #HamRadio #AmateurRadio

Damn I sure hope this is the real deal and not a pirate!
Hex heading, frequency and propagation all match.
15m was a gong show complete with self-appointed FT8 cops & I couldn't hear 3Y0J at all.
Slid over to 10m and got them right away... if it was actually them. Will see. Fingers crossed. Will try for other modes/bands later on when things calm down. #HamRadio #Digital #DXpedition #3Y0J #BouvetIsland
