Ahh, actually, that trick doesn't work if you want to activate the "use mapping tables" option when exporting, which #3DExperience warns you to always use, "to avoid loss of data".

Because that becomes inactive when you switch format back and forth, and once you activate it again, the export path is back to where it was ...

... I did 30 minutes of actual work with this thing today, and spent over 2h doing it.

If you want to actually get a file out of #3DExperience these days, you need to be patient, and you only get a "result" file, no associative information whatsoever.
And it always lands in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\DassaultSystemes\CATTemp -- the export path input box is greyed out.

Somebody does not *want* me to get the results of my work back.
(also the actual file lands in one of the many subfolders of that place -- have fun searching!)
