Would have been quicker, but I spent a bit of time fiddling about with how to use the edge vertices to automatically generate the proper points for my heat set inserts/screws along the edge.

a lot of cheap usb μscopes come with really hard-to-manipulate bases. my little carson here, came on a gooseneck. absolutely impossible to adjust the illumination without screwing up position & focus, and vice versa. this little aluminum base is almost as ubiquitous, though, and is a huge improvement.
since the mounting ring on the stand is Ø35mm and the scope body is Ø30mm, i printed a little bushing to stabilize it.

picked up a cheap usb microscope to examine wear on 3d printer nozzles, and the Before pics are nothing to write home about.
got a cheap brass 0.4 that came with a cheap printer, and a micro swiss M2 0.6
