It is also limiting in simulation features, but most people won't be using it for 3D printing.
I have a lot of experience with this type of software, and I haven't been limited at all with the free version.

It would be cool if there was a #3mf or #stl viewer for #Nextcloud... #3ddruck #3dprinting

#Introduction: My wandering career has led me to Google, where I own #model-viewer, your #opensource #web library to put #3D on your page with just a line of HTML, in photorealistic #PBR.
I also work standards on #glTF with #Khronos, and long ago with #3MF.
My side project is #Manifold, an open source #geometry kernel which I believe is the first to guarantee manifold mesh output. Test it out at https://manifoldcad.org/

I might be wrong, but a read the spec once. But it was a while ago.
In the spec there was mention of meta data, it probably depends on what you want to put in it.
Obviously, you can add multiple models to a single #3mf file, but then yeah, they will all be together and will be imported wherever you import the file.
So the best thing I can think is sharing them with #rar or #zip files. If you find a way, please do let me know
I simply use #3mf files. They are the best. #fusion360 allows me to export as .3mf files, and then I can open them in #prusaslicer and save my print settings with them. Thus, I now only have one file per project that I am working on.
I haven't tried editing models from a .3mf file yet, but I love that I can co.e back 6 months later and have a file with all my settings still there, and I can change them. Basically, all the pleasure of #gcode files, but I can edit and change the #slicer settings.
The #3dprinting community would also appreciate it if you use it.3mf files because it is the new standard and most uploading sites allow them.

@Siff @3dprinting thanks! I prefer #3mf because then my models and print settings are stored together. It just simplifies my file storage. Because, damn my folder of designs, gcode, and other files is already 3GB.
@Stark9837 @3dprinting Haven’t happened to me, but yesterday #Fusion360 was “weird” and, at some point I got a message that there is a new version and to restart the app to update itself. I’ll try export to #3mf later to see whether the issue is there.
This is the first time ever that it has happened with me, but has anyone had problems exporting #3mf files from #fusion360?
I am trying to export something, and prefer to use .3mf files for everything, due to the support of #prusa slicer, but when I try to open the exported file in anything, it gives an error at some arbitrary line number.
