Hoping to rewatch Hitchcock’s film Rope this weekend, if I stay awake enough #neuro. It will be a rewatch for me - I caught it by chance late one night years ago. My husband has never seen it, though I hope he may find some bits familiar from the Psychoville episode it inspired! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0040746/ #Hitchcock #AlfredHitchcock #40sFilms #Filmstodon #Thriller #JamesStewart #Psychoville #Films

A SHIP TO INDIA (’47): Early Ingmar Bergman is an excellent portrayal, told mostly in flashback, of a crumbling family dynamic aboard a salvage ship. I mean, hey, when dad brings a mistress home to live with mom and son, and then son falls for the mistress, what do you think is gonna happen? Love the moody photography and the poetic realist vibes infused throughout this. Right up my alley. #swedishfilms #40sfilms
GYPSY WILDCAT (’44): Enjoyable escapist fluff in the Maria Montez/Jon Hall series of such for Universal. Maria is the Wildcat in question, secretly of noble birth, in love with wrongly accused Hall and needing to save him before she ends up married to a very wrong man. Predictable but fast moving and entertaining, with a nice battle finale too. #oldhollywood #classichollywood #40sfilms
