Thinking of starting a blog where I just talk about a chapter of a Fourth Edition Dungeons & Dragons book every week.

Mostly because I'm reading all of it anyway but also because I think conversations about the edition are severely lacking in an understanding of what it *actually* is. People seem to be rediscovering it but we still see the same criticisms we used to see when it first came out. At the same time the people who are championing it tend to gloss over the actual flaws.

I'd also like to practice my writing again and a blog no-one reads about a topic I care about seems like a fair way to start doing that.

17) Funniest Game you've played

I'm gonna go back with those #4e #DnD one-shots like Fane of the Heresiarch. My DM was really into what was called "FourthCore", which was making some absolutely gonzo stuff with 4e. We had little attachment to our characters and so would just do wild shit for the joy of it.

15) Favorite Con Module/One-Shot

Fane of the Heresiarch for #4e #DnD. My character sheet had a printing problem where my name was, so I became "Sista Ballista". I believe I died due to "Polymorph Into Literature". The DM let me tell what the book was; it was "Sista Ballista gets all the mistas", as pick-up artist book for nuns.

#DriveThruRPG tells me that was Orcus, the retroclone of #4e #DnD

When I was running DnD #4e and the #Warlock player decided halfway through the dungeon to start helping the evil cultists and split from the party. We were passing notes as to what his character was doing and the look on the rest of the party's faces when they open the BBEG chamber and find the Warlock was at a desk next to them taking notes was amazing. The cult then ended up obtaining their goal and it caused an apocalypse. So we played the next session 200 years in the future in the post-apoc world the players created. On that note, Fallout translates pretty well into #DnD if you replace radioactive energy with necrotic energy.

4. Recent purchase

The most recent purchase was a bunch of #4e books for the Dragon game but those don't count because I bought them to resell.

The real one was The Troubleshooters RPG.

I was intrigued and then a recent listen to @gspearing 's First Age podcast convinced me to give it a go.

It's so new that it's still in the shopping bag. Not sure when I'm gonna get to it, but I'm really looking forward to it.
