@AlanyG21 @fuchsiii @foone in terms of Adaptors to "harvest" if you want to try the cheap USB route, I can recommend the (#4G only but cheap!) #ZTE #MF79U and #Alcatel #LinkKey.

Both basically work out of the box on #Linux and #FreeBSD as #USB-"#Ethernet" adaptors and are essentially portable routers w/o battery.

The MF79U also has WiFi Router Function (2,4 GHz bgn) so it's a practical option that costs <€50 and just works...

For #PCMCIA one would've to likely do a PCIMCIA -> USB 2.0 adaptor or combine a PCMCIA -> Serial chipset with some embedded/industrial WWAN modem like the #SIM700E that acts like a modem and is configered with AT-/Hayes-Commands...

Kinda like the #Wifi232 but basically #5G or #4G and call it the #5G232 or something...

Just under 2 years ago I bought a 24GB Pre-Paid Three sim card to use as cellular backup for my broadband. The key selling point was that the data didn't expire for 48 months and averages out a <£2 a month

I was looking to buy a dumbphone (aka feature phone) in a shop and asked whether it had 4G. The seller told me it did not matter because it does not give access to the Internet.

Is there something I do not understand here, or is she actually the confused one?

The way I understand it is that 4G also allows better phone call quality, quite irrespective of internet access. Right? #4G #dumbphone

Ok. Now I'm utterly confused. 1minute after crossing the Danish border my 3G connection is faster than all the German 4G and quite a lot of the German 5G signal when on the web.

Is my provider deliberately slowing things down in our neighbour to the south?
