Working on a show that hangs 4/3. Gallery owner wanted “spring,” new work. I’d been so bogged down finding and printing new work that it has gotten late — too late to order any frames, mat, besides what I have on hand.
I just went digging and found some large prints of older spring work can fill a lot of wall, so that takes some pressure off. Also will frame a very old big piece. March, atmosphere just like yesterday. This:

Den Müll vom #Oneinstant Film von #Supersense hatte ich am Freitag gezeigt. Nun am #Silbersonntag mal das eigentliche Ergebnis des Filmes. Auch wenn die Filme unfassbar teuer sind, darf man nicht mehr erwarten als das. Sie sind teurer als alte #Fujifilm FP-100C (was schon was heißen will), aber man sollte es eher als Investment sehen, auf dass Doc Kaps sein Produkt weiter verbessern kann.

I had just come out to my closest friends a week or two earlier on this same trip, so the male/female split of the standee was of the standee was what caught my eye.
We had to walk back to the car for my equipment, because hauling 30 pounds of gear on my back wasn’t how we did our evening ambles. Worth it.
I remember it was well dark, and getting the movements right to have both the castle and the standee in focus took some work.
The negative was processed semi-stand in Rodinal at 1/100 dilution for an hour.
The castle is just barely overexposed. I shot two sheets, and were it possible for me to keep things better organized while traveling, I could have processed the two independently and let the second sheet soak for less time. Then again, highlights are the first to clear. 🤷♀️

The problem i had when I tried photographing the neg against a light source was getting reflection: light hits camera, bounces back to negative and then to lens. Worst case I got a nice image of the camera, at least I figure I get reduced contrast. #4x5 #largeformat

I set up my full frame camera on a tripod and used a film holder, cardboard box, and iPad as a light source. I was just going to do one or two, but once I had it set up I scanned dozens. One from 1980, not edited except to reverse the negative and sort of get the tones right.
