Long read but absolutely my opinion.
(Why is there a 500 char limit at Norden.social in the 1rst place?)

utopify_org@veganism.social - I find it interesting that people got triggered after I wrote I will move to another #Mastodon instance, because of the #500chars limit. (the instance I am on right now has a 10k chars limit ❤️).

#FYI
Mastodon has #NoAds, #500Chars, #5Pins, and #PostEdits, but the best thing is #NoAlgorithm. On the #BirdSite you are force-fed by an #algorithm. A mishmash of your history, likes, follows and whatever Twitter wants to cram into you. With #NoAlgorithm, you are in control. Your feeds are just who and what you follow, and you can follow #hashtags .

TIP OF THE DAY
Use and Follow #hashtags !!!

Include #hashtags liberally so others can follow your ideas.

@polymerwitch @cyrinsong ...and now, having finally had the chance to actually read the reply (after setting up a backup internet connection via a repeater hub connected to my phone, because our DSL kept going out for a few seconds at a time -- which, of course, it stopped doing once I had finished setting up), all I can say is -- awesome sauce. :-)
I've been looking for this kind of communication since forever (having to excise explanation because #500chars); glad to see it starting to happen.
