@mhoye You need to go further back. Real classic rock used direct to wax with two turntables running in parallel, so one record could be listened and if the other other was OK, used for mastering.

I just recently learned about the "A History of Rock Music in 500 songs" podcast thanks to @radleybalko (https://nitter.net/radleybalko/status/1586355918119522304) talking about the The Lion Sleeps Tonight episode (https://500songs.com/podcast/episode-92-the-lion-sleeps-tonight-by-the-tokens/). There are so many stories about artists (largely black artists) getting screwed over during this series, but this one is something else.
