I can't get into John Dies At The End by Jason Pargin, at all....
Loved Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits, as well as its sequel: Zoey Punches The Future In The D*ck, so I had expectations that I would like the authors style in this one as well, but.... no. I will try book 2 as well and hope that it has a more coherent narrative. But the paranormal stuff is not my cup of tea in the first place. #yuu2023 #52booksin23

Also started listening to the audiobook by Jennette McCurdy "I'm Glad My Mom Died" (2022) and it's a lotttt. I like the writing style and voicing. Reminds me a lot about my past, but also seems cathartic to listen to. There is not just pain, but like... A way to see how constant trauma impacted her, and listening to what the child self wanted and needed. Through what was lost can we learn what we need. #52booksin23 #Yuu23 #52booksin52weeks

Started reading Crash Override: How Gamergate (Nearly) Destroyed My Life, and How We Can Win the Fight Against Online Hate by games developer Zoë Quinn. Really hope that more ppl who are into games (or spend a lot of time online) read this. #52booksin23 #Yuu23

Just started The Colour of Magic - Terry Pratchett and it reads like a crack fanfiction, I love it.

Surprised when I just started reading Kitchen by Yoshimoto Banana, that a trans woman is one of the main characters. I've had this book in my library since I was 16-17 and never read it and NOW I find out? Would probably have helped me a lot when I was younger. #Yuu23 #52booksin23
