The Canada Chain and Forge company occupied several buildings on what is now Granville Island in #Vancouver, BC starting from 1923. After the island's conversion from an industrial land to a multi-use artisanal space in the late 1970s, the manufacturer moved off the island and left behind several examples of its work. This weathered, rusty anchor with several chain links is mounted beside the walkway under the Granville St Bridge. #52frames #52frames_wabisabi #GranvilleIsland

Extra credit was abandoned buildings so I went down to the old lumber yard building in town. Still used as an RV storage area, so not entirely abandoned, but has definitely seen better days. It was in operation when we first moved here, but they couldn't compete with the big box stores. The gaps in the siding from shrinkage over time really caught my eye, along with peeling paint. #wabisabi #52frames_wabisabi #peelingpaint #oldbuildings #naturereturns #decay #byGoneEra

This is for the five people who were killed at ClubQ in Colorado Springs on Saturday. I wanted to use a rainbow of candles. I went to a local shop in my town that employs queer people and asked if they had any drippy candles. They had a set of these rainbow skull candles.

I had many thoughts for wabi sabi photos but the 'impermanence' stuck out for me and I had to do something related to the shooting. Stop killing my people.
