Sneaking a few more albums in before I cast my vote for #5Albums63. Thought this was a great album from Jorge Ben.

Listened to a lot of exceptional Jazz for #5albums63 this last fortnight, all of it made me keep going back to one of the standout tracks of 2022. Hip Hop & Jazz fans need this in their life…

A friend of a friend told me that I had to get onto Thelonious Monk and this was as good a time as any. This is pretty incredible #5Albums63
One of the first Mingus albums I heard and it just didn't chime with me at all. Now of course, things are different. #5albums63

'African Flower' was one of the first jazz tunes I ever fell in love with. Gary Burton's version though. Remember discovering it on this years later.
OK, so I know it's not eligible for #5albums63 but I do like Hutcherson and this line up - Duke Pearson, Joe Henderson, and Grant Green. #NowListening
Recorded '63 and sat in Blue Note vaults for almost 40 years before it was released!

Got some original Sonny Terry LPs from the 60s kicking around somewhere...
Oh yeah and its another of Coltrane's #5albums63 candidates despite being recorded in 1957
Also the original was on 16 2⁄3 rpm - what is that!?!
#NowPlaying Miles Davis - Seven Steps to Heaven. An overlooked and underrated gem in Miles' canon. Very rarely see it mentioned, perhaps because it was at transitional point, but it's a class affair. It also marks the beginning of his second great Quintet. #5albums63
