It really doubles down on the idea of the Prime Directive and the rules that these Starfleet people live by. But it all goes pear-shaped in this adventure, and we end on a sour note.
3️⃣ Great guest characters, too. Complex, interesting people.
4️⃣ Guest star #NancyKovack is gorgeous and is given a fun character to play.
5️⃣ First appearance of #BookerBradshaw as Dr. M'Benga.
6️⃣ Some great Spock-Chapel moments in this one.

4️⃣ Commodore Stocker, however, is a strong character, clearly conflicted about what he feels he needs to do. He's an antagonist who genuinely means well, and that's rare in the series.
5️⃣ According to #IMDb users, this is the 40th best episode.

The #BrianClemens written episode “The Correct Way to Kill" from the 1960s cult British spy-fi tv series “THE AVENGERS” was directed by #CharlesCrichton, and starred #PatrickMacnee and #DianaRigg, with #AnnaQuayle and first aired on #ABC on 11 March 1967

Venus Smith, the forgotten Avengers girl. She was Steed's partner in six 1963 episodes. Fascinatingly different from the other Avengers girls. She had zero combat skills but she was a useful agent. And quite charming.

3️⃣ Uhura gets a couple of great scenes. #NichelleNichols is magnificent as she leaves the bridge after pulling a knife on Mr. Sulu.

The Interrogators, a great 1969 Tara King episode of The Avengers, written by Richard Harris and Brian Clemens. Christopher Lee guest stars. Starts with a British agent being interrogated by the bad guys, then the twists begin.

2️⃣ In the final act, it becomes a more straightforward science-fiction tale with the ship in peril, etc.
3️⃣ Good performances from all the guests.
4️⃣ Kirk, McCoy and (obviously) Scotty get the most screentime in this one. Spock is only really involved towards the end, when the action shifts to the USS Enterprise.
5️⃣ According to #IMDb users, this is the 45th best episode.

Guest star: #HaroldJStone (#MyWorldAndWelcomeToIt).
1️⃣ 2nd part of 2-parter doesn't lose momentum. Much mileage got from the various suspects all making the same unique sound when they move.
2️⃣ Many good gags. Best gag: Max struggling/failing with a deckchair in background, while 99 casually chats to Chief on phone. They switch positions; 99 instantly gets the chair set-up. Very funny.

TODAY IN QUEER TV HISTORY
THE TODAY SHOW - 6/27/1969, NBC
Today in 1969, the day before the Stonewall Riots began, TODAY interviewed psychiatrist / NYU professor Robert E. Gould about homosexuality. He was an early advocate of officially declassifying same-sex desire as a mental illness.

Managed to nab me one last Network release I’d missed and should have got. Alan Garner’s The Owl Service (1969) remastered on Blu-ray. Barely in print due to Network going into liquidation a couple of months after release. Out of stock most places but found a marketplace seller on Amazon with new stock. I haven’t seen this in many decades. Limited edition Blu-ray box includes a thorough booklet full of info. #BritishTV #Wales #AlanGarner #Horror #Folklore #FolkHorror #Myths #Myth #60sTV #Network

1️⃣ Plenty of use for the recurring characters, Agent 44 and Professor Parker. Each getting lengthy scenes.
2️⃣ Most of the action takes place on board a ship at sea, which is well shot. Fog, etc.
3️⃣ Lots and lots of jokes. Not just from Max being stupid, though there is a lot of that. Instead, all of the characters are wonderfully absurd. Even those who are about to die are given plenty of gags.
4️⃣ This is a prime example of a show that has found its tone.
The funniest moments, however, all involve #WilliamShatner's Kirk reacting to the tribbles, to Undersecretary Baris, to the bar brawl, etc. Shatner is in fine form here.
4️⃣ Aside from laughs, the script delivers a story that works, with a credible threat (in the form of Klingons!). It's also a real ensemble piece, with key scenes for all the regular characters. Except Sulu, who doesn't appear.

Average.
1️⃣ Story-driven entry, with some decent prop gags and plenty of chuckles being generated by repetition.
2️⃣ Guests include #BertFreed (the first actor to play #Columbo).
3️⃣ As with episode 24, the Chief is out in the field with Max and that leads to ample opportunity for comedy.
4️⃣ Agent 99 enters the story late, but she's the one who solves the mystery and gets the drop on the bad guys.

#StarTrek 36 (1967) - 10/10
My favourite episode.❤️
1️⃣ #WilliamWindom (#MyWorldAndWelcomToIt) is the best guest star the show had.
2️⃣ It’s a nail-biting, edge-of-the-seat thriller from start to finish. The design of the unstoppable Planet Killer is part of the appeal, helped enormously by the #SolKaplan score.
3️⃣ Kirk, Spock & Scotty shine in this story. #NormanSpinrad’s script gives each of them strong moments.
4️⃣ According #IMDb users, this is the 5th best episode.

Lost in Space by Dave van Arnam and Ron Archer is as its name suggests a TV tie-in novel inspired by the classic TV series. It's not a bad sci-fi novel but it really doesn't have the feel of the TV series.
