Un grandissimo Calado acciuffa un podio insperato dopo la prima mezz'ora di gara.
Recuperava 3/4 secondi a giro. Ha rimontato 48 secondi di svantaggio in 45 minuti.

Nelle vetture #wec non c'è lo specchietto retrovisore ma una telecamera che restituisce l'immagine su uno schermo nell'auto.
Dal camera car della Gatting si vedeva che nello schermo comparivano anche frecce e indicazioni varie.
Quindi oltre a guidare a 300 km/h in mezzo a 30 auto devono guardare anche uno schermo colorato.

I hate to see a car reduced to a little square like this, but above all I’m relieved Renger van der Zande is okay. He waved to the crowd and even made a bow. (Renger will always be Renger.) I hope Cadillac can somehow glue the car back together.
