Sometimes I think try to "solve" games by trying to become untouchable, instead of "playing" them. In FF12 I spent hours grinding the opening screen to level 30 before entering the first town to actually start the game. It trivialized the game, I hit level 99 really quickly, and then I lost interest and put it down for a few months.

I actually didn't play a lot of video games growing up in a way I'd say they were like, influential on me but these come pretty close. Bloodborne is my current video game obsession. Kingdom Hearts dominated a 5 year period of my life, Skyrim & New Vegas were my comfort games when I was going through some pretty major fucking trauma (same for Fable 2) and then Silent Hill is just a huge inspiration to my world building.

I'm not sure if any of this lists actually tell you about who I am as a person or if they gtell you about like, my story telling sensibilities.

There's a couple of other games that were like, majorly influential but I don't know what the fuck they were because I was a small child, playing them on a PS1 in like 2000 and my memory is a disaster. One of them was a fighting game that was very like, gothic and had blood and monsters and weapons but what it was called? IDK! I still haven't found it despite searching.

*giggling* I say this with all the love in my heart for my fellow geeks doing the #7VideoGamesToKnowMe meme.

When I see #Skyrim on a list I'm like "Ah yes! A fellow human person that owns some form of electronics! We have shared bonding experiences!"

Someday I hope to play Skyrim on my air fryer.
