So I added Spanish to my Swedish 8vim-keyboard and it was really easy. Now it's as bilingual as I am 😁
¿¡see!?
beri gud.
Had a whim an reinstalled the #8vim keyboard on my phone. Too early to tell if I like it, or the fact that it makes me slow down a bit to think about what I'm trying to type.
I've mostly been using it with my index finger, which could also suggest that I really just hate typing with my thumbs.
I once again have my favourite keyboard! :D
I've learned about a #quikwriting, an alternative text input method using a stylus/finger focusing on continuous flow:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quikwriting
For Android, there was a now no longer maintained keyboard called #8pen.
Now, it has an open source, spiritual successor called #8vim: https://github.com/flide/8Vim
I was wondering if anyone has ever tried using 8vim/8pen or a similar (quikwriting like) input method. If so, how was it? Is the learning curve steep? Did it increase your input rate? Would you say it's worth learning to enter text on a touchscreen?
I am overjoyed to report that I have finally, *finally*, found a clone of the old 8pen! https://www.8vim.com/
#8vim is in the early stages, I think, but it exists, and it is more than I can say about 8pen *which I paid money for*. They withdrew the app a few years after I started using it and that has always irked me.
