Invest #93L has been designated… but what is an “Invest” anyway, and what does the 93L bit mean?
An Invest is an area of disturbed weather that is under investigation (hence the name “invest”) for its potential to develop into a tropical cyclone.
Invests are always numbered beginning with a 9 and then another digit, so the numbers 90 through 99. Once 99 has been reached, the numbering starts again at 90.
The “L” in 93L means the system is in the North Atlantic basin.
