Let me just start with admitting that I used a hex editor on my save file to boost my health to... many times the normal value... so I could actually defeat the final boss.

That said, with some perseverance I *did* manage to deal with all the other difficult boss battles scattered throughout the game.

It's an absolutely lovely #Metroidvania about a cool girl who has traveled to a living castle to break a curse that killed her parents.

Forgot to toot something after my #9YearsOfShadows session last night, but I'll just throw in a couple of extra screenshots here.

Not sure if the boss difficulty has evened out a bit, or if I've gotten better, but... while challenging, I think I've been consistently beating them on my 2nd or 3rd try these past two days.

Also, the armor designs (while wildly impractical) continue to be absolutely gorgeous. The women as well. 👀 My most recent encounter being with Sahara (pictured).

Love to eat my own words the very next time I play the game. 😵

Played two consecutive boss battles (one of which didn't even have a save room nearby) that I died to multiple times.

The game's "regenerating shield" system no longer feels overpowered, as finding an opening to get your buffer back and protect your precious health during intense fights can be a real challenge. I'm looking at *you* phase 3 of Shadow of Hope.

Had time for about half an hour of #9YearsOfShadows before I had to turn in for the night.

Did a boss battle, unlocked the Gravity Suit (i.e. the water-elemental Poseidon Armor), and then the double-jump (Pegasus Feather) shortly afterwards.

Boss battle difficulty is... fairly comfortable. It's a nice change of pace after some other, highly difficult #Metroidvania games.

Most of all, I'm continually struck by how beautiful the art is, and I adore the *specific* anime influences.
