Do you wonder what your ICU patients are thinking when delirious?

We know #delirium is a predictor of longer length of stay, cost of care, acquired #dementia & #death. This patient revealed to us his memory of #ICU:

"I was at the bottom of a large observation space. I knew I had to get out of there if I was going to make it... My mom was w/ me & she helped me find strength to pull myself out of the hole I was in.”

Family at bedside - YES

It’s evidence-based. Not having family allowed at the bedside is actually against the evidence of the #A2Fbundle.

All of us must wake up to the fact that the F in the safety bundle dictates family presence.
