January 27th, 2023: Independence Day for "CC-D&D 5e" (i.e., the D&D SRD) and all games and material based upon it from Wizards of the Coast. Today's half-year mark of this joyous occasion is cause for celebration! Fireworks! For the future, I would like to see all RPGs with as comprehensive an SRD as is the case, e.g., for Level Up A5E: only then will we be able to lift our games into the digital space without being locked into proprietary platforms.

Anyways, a good thing for today: as we had no session tonight due to me needing extra time to figure out the new system (#A5E) we decided to just hang out in voice. And ended up doing some really great collaborative worldbuilding together! Inviting my players to help with the worldbuilding process was one of the best decisions, they had so many great ideas. I spent some time yesterday thinking about #OneDnD druid and how I might adjust it.

And then I remembered that I own Level Up Advanced 5e. And sure enough, they've already fixed the core druid issue (double-health-bar) and ADDED customizability instead of removing it.

If you’re interested in continuing to run #DnD / #5e but wizards is making you cringe. I highly advise En Publishing’s Advanced 5E. It seriously breathed new life into my game and if I ever have players begging for 5e I’ll be including these books. Also, it’ll likely be under #orc or other #openlicense

I'm happy to see EN Publishing on the list of ORC partners. I have a feeling my players will easily transition from D&D 5e to Level Up #A5e. Seeing EN Publishing as an ORC partner gives me hope they'll continue publishing that game.

#SessionReport for session 2 of the #G3 part of my #GDQx campaign: party tried to pursue King Snurre though his secret path, but were turned back by a dracohydra; going the other way they encountered Queen Fruppy upreved to a Fire Giant War Mage and with minions and 3 giant dire weasels (who are viciously effective given cover and a smallish room). The Queen almost dropped my the #MinMaxed warrior whos popped so many of my monsters- the #ExpandedMonstermanual & #A5e books were gold to use

Stoked about using #Talespire for the new (#LevelUp5E!) campaign. Getting through the learning curve and just blown away by the detailing—using this for the Poor District of Lethis (blue arrow is party HQ, green circles are taverns). #DnD #TTRPG #DungeonsAndDragons #A5E #DnD5E

FYI, Bundle of Holding has Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition (#A5E) for $25 bucks for the entire 3-book core set and a bunch of resources. Plus, it automatically adds to your #DTRPG account.

I’m super interested in the system, especially since it’s backward compatible with existing #5e stuff.

If nothing else, I’ll get some cool ideas and monster abilities out of it. But so far, it seems kinda great, and honestly…better than #OneDnD is looking.
