A discussion I would LOVE to witness (like, maybe a panel/round table of Black translators?): how should #AAE be translated into other languages? I refer back to The Color Purple a lot, because the Spain dubbing just has the Black characters speaking with the same Madrid accent as everyone but speaking "bad."

As we move a work to a different culture w/ a different linguistic history, which doesn't reflect #AAE well, what is the ethical approach? How do we honor, not erase and also not belittle?

Also: this year’s #AAE #Lantau50 on 9-Dec-2023 clashes with #ThailandByUTMB, so there’s a clear alternative for those HK trailrunners not fussed about (qualifying for) the 2024 UTMB…

Amazon has quietly been developing AI software to screen job applicants.

Journalists received confidential documents from Amazon. They refer to the development of AI-based Automated Applicant Evaluation (AAE) technology, which will partially replace recruiters.

AAE knows how to find matches in the resumes of applicants for positions of those who are already working in similar positions. The development is taking place quietly and has been going on for over 1 year.
