5 months ago today I was all alone in a bay for 6 on Ward 30 at the Freeman waiting for open heart surgery to fix a congenital heart defect. This is my Valentine to all the lovely people who saved my life from the hospital staff to the family of my valve donor. Thank you ❤️

The eye of the storm between the visual aura fading away and waiting for the headache to arrive that will last till bedtime that ibuprofen and paracetamol do nothing for. Thankfully it's always low grade and I can keep working. Hopefully between my cardiologist, neuro-opthamologist, and psychiatrist we can find a solution. Might be as simple as daily aspirin or switching to a different antidepressant, or changing my blood pressure medication. No doubt they'll also tell me to lose weight as well. Trying! #migraines #ACHD

40 years ago today I was being taken into theatre for open-heart surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The surgery took several hours and I was in hospital for just over a month.

I happened to be nearby a few weeks ago so got a snap of me outside.💔#chd #achd
