Someone who’s more academically-connected than I am should should do a study on if the #Adderall shortage has led to any affects in unemployment statistics.

I'm getting pretty damn tired of having to finagle access to #ADHDMeds, and it seems increasingly likely the shortage is a manufactured one.
I don't know anything about the author of this NYT guest opinion piece, but she points to DEA manufacturing quotas and asserts that the FDA would be better suited to regulate potentially addictive #ADHD medicines like #Adderall and #Ritalin.

this is what $410 looks like, with insurance!
I've been off my meds waiting for the generic to come back in stock, but there's no end in sight for the #ADHDMeds shortage and not having my #ADHD managed has been literally ruining my life. so, I ponied up for the name brand. "thankfully" I'll be hitting my out-of-pocket maximum this year anyway due to my husband's surgery, MRIs, etc. so the cost will be a wash by the end of the year... but this is pretty obscene, don't you think?
I've never taken ADHD meds (and unlikely to ever get a prescription ::sigh:: ) but I just learned (from a random YouTube Scooby Doo video) that ADHD meds have very VERY bad interaction with antacid/indigestion medication.
Basically by changing your stomach acidity - the antacids/indigestion meds can drastically increase the release rate/potency of the ADHD meds.
So yeah. Be careful with what meds you ingest that have horrible counteractions !

My hypothesis at the moment is that Adderall helps with my hyperactivity, but that hyperactivity was the main motivating factor for me to get up and out the door to go to the next place I need to be.
Is that at all reasonable, or am I way off base?
I'm thankful every day that I have a salary because the worst #ADHD symptom I have is time-blindness and I'd have lost my job years ago if I had to clock in/out. But, a while ago I transferred to a new position that does not play nice with the way my brain works. I finally gave in and went back on medication, but it made things way worse. I show up *and leave* the office hours later.
Well, I haven't been able to get a refill and now, without drugs, my schedule is normal again? WTF!?
I’m trying Vyvanse. While it’s not been the miracle drug I hoped for, it’s reduced the depth of my depressive lows, and I’m getting more stuff done. I’m able to sustain attention a little more: finished writing all the holiday cards without taking a break, did some baking, stuff like that.
Still haven’t tackled my email. 700+ messages. What if I just deleted them all? 😆
